Where to Watch the Sunset in Cancun: Top Scenic Spots
Imagine ending your day in Cancun with a breathtaking sunset. You may be thinking: Cancun beach is facing east, so there are no amazing sunset spots in Cancun. But I will prove you wrong in this post and share many amazing sunset spots in Cancun.
In fact, if you head to the Fashion Harbour in La Isla Shopping Village or anywhere along the hotel zone on the lagoon side, you can see spectacular sunsets over the Cancun Downtown Skyline.
Another good spot on the Nichupte Lagoon is Jardín del Arte (Art Garden). This peaceful park is located near Playa Langosta, which is closer to downtown Cancun if you come from there. and provides a serene setting to watch the sun dip below the horizon.
If you enjoy a blend of nature and adventure, the waterways connecting Nichupté Lagoon to the Caribbean Sea over both bridges, one at km 5 and the other one near Punta Nizuc, also offer magnificent sunset views.

The beach is famous for its iconic “Cancun” sign, where many visitors take photos. It’s an excellent place to relax as the sun sets, creating stunning hues over the horizon.
In fact, even if the Sun sets on the opposite side of the beach, in the lagoon, you will still see a beautiful pink sky reflecting over the Caribbean Sea. It’s really beautiful. Playa Delfines is also a popular spot for sunrise if you are a morning person.
Le Blanc Spa Resort
Le Blanc Spa Resort offers an upscale experience for sunset watchers if you book a lagoon view room. This adults-only resort provides a serene and luxurious setting. The elegant atmosphere makes it a perfect place for a romantic escape.

This my favorite restaurant, both for the food and the sunset. The private tables are scattered around on a wooden structure over the water on the Nichupte’ lagoon, offering spectacular views of Cancun Downtown Skyline.
Isla Mujeres
A short ferry ride from Cancun, Isla Mujeres is a great island getaway for sunset lovers. The island offers several beautiful sunset spots, such as Playa Norte. The peaceful surroundings and clear waters make it a popular choice. As the sun sets, the sky lights up with vibrant colors, providing a perfect end to your day.
Isla Blanca
Not many know about this corner of paradise north of Cancun. It’s located right in front of Isla Mujeres but further north, and although the beach is on the eastern side, opposite to it, you will find a spectacular lagoon so much loved by kite-surfers.
