2024 Spring Break Cancun Dates
Spring break is a time for students to let loose and enjoy some time away from school. For many, that means heading to sunny destinations to soak up the sun and party.
Cancun is one of the most popular spring break spots, and it’s no wonder why. With its clear turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and lively nightlife, Cancun has something for everyone.
But when is Spring Break?
If you’re planning to head to Cancun for Spring Break 2024, you’ll want to figure out what days you can travel.
While the exact dates of Spring Break depend on the particular school, most North American and US colleges take a break between the end of February to mid-April. Canadian spring break also happens around the same time.
However, the most popular times this year are the weeks of March 4 to 10, and 11 to 17. It’s important to remember that Spring Break is peak season in Cancun, so you’ll want to factor that in when you book your trip to this popular place!
Cancun During Spring Break: What to Expect
Cancun is a classic Spring Break destination featuring sand, surf, sun, and lively nightlife. This season, particularly during February and March, the city is a popular destination for college students.
But if you’ve never spent the season in one of the most popular destinations for Spring Break, you might be wondering what to expect.
Cancun during Spring Break is usually sunny and warm with average temperatures between 28 (79) and 29 (82). That means it’s important to pack your sunscreen, but you’ll also want to grab some mosquito repellent because the bugs can be bad that time of year.
If you’re looking for a party scene during spring break, Cancun is the place to be. The city comes alive at night, with bustling nightclubs, delicious food, and pristine, moonlit beaches.
Just be sure to drink responsibly and stay safe while out partying!

9 Best Party Hotels in Cancun for Spring Break
1. Grand Oasis Cancun

The Grand Oasis Cancun is a favorite among college students over Spring Break. This gorgeous resort is in the heart of the Hotel Zone and offers everything you could want for an unforgettable trip.
From sunny beaches to world-class dining and nightlife, there’s something here for everyone.
The property is home to 14 bars (beach bars included) that frequently host bands, live shows, and popular world-class DJs.
In fact, it’s been the site for several MTV spring break beach parties, which have even included surprise celebrity guests!
If you’re looking for a BIG party scene to attend this Spring Break high season, this is where you’re going to find it.
Between the gorgeous crystal blue waters, white sandy beaches, and all-inclusive drink packages at the Grand Oasis Day Club (hello, open bar!), you’re never going to want to leave.
Clean and beautiful hotel with a great view.

2. Beach Palace Cancun Resort

Beach Palace is an all-inclusive resort located right on the white sands of Cancun in the heart of the Hotel Zone. If you’re a tech-focused tourist, this is the resort for you.
The rooms are decked out in technology from HDTV screens to Bluetooth speakers so you can keep the party going, even if you’re back in your room.
Enjoy the breathtaking views of the crystal clear blue waters while relaxing in one of the resort’s three pools (or jump in the whirlpool).
The resort also offers an array of activities and entertainment for guests of all ages, making it the perfect place to bring the whole family — and there are likely to be families on site so take that into account when planning.
Plus, one of the best things is with four on-site restaurant options, you’ll never go hungry. Round off by going to the fitness center (if that’s relaxing for you) or booking a massage at the full-service spa.
It’s a great destination if you’re headed to the area in the spring.
Amazing staff! They provided all the comfort and enjoyable stay. We all loved it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ kenrick, august 2023
3. Riu Cancun

Chances are you’ll want to hit up one of Cancun’s best clubs, but if you stay at Riu Cancun you don’t have to leave the property to enjoy the nightlife.
Pacha is the resort’s on-site nightclub, so you can take full advantage of the wild parties but still be close enough to home to get a good night’s sleep (if that’s important for you).
Riu is also in the heart of the Hotel Zone, making it within walking distance from nightclubs and surrounded by excellent options for restaurants in the area.
But you don’t have to leave the resort to enjoy good food — it has both a delicious buffet and themed dining experiences.
But what spring breakers enjoy most about the resort is its gorgeous swim-up bars. That’s right, you can have the full relaxation experience and get drinks right in the pool.
I don’t know if you can get closer to paradise.
Beautiful view and staff was very helpful.

4. Temptation Cancun Resort

Temptation Resort isn’t going to be the right Spring Break hotel for everyone. But for those that it does match, it’s very right. This is an adults-only (21+) top-optional property with themed areas like their Sexy Pool area.
Temptation Cancun Resort can be found at a great location in the Hotel Zone. It features round-the-clock food, 24-hour room service (if you need it), day and evening entertainment (risqué night shows included), a refreshing spa, a beauty salon, and pool butler service.
Not to mention you should factor in the two pools, 3 jacuzzis, and seven restaurants.
At the end of the day, this sexy-fun-time experience isn’t the right fit for everyone. But if you’re looking to mix naughty and nice, and want a truly relaxing experience, this might be the perfect place for you.
I liked everything. This resort is like a paradise for party lovers. 😍
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARMANDO, FEBRUARY 2023
5. Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort

If you like the idea of Temptation Resort but want something more intimate for you and a partner, Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort is for you.
This is one of the top spring break destinations if you’re looking for an adult-only, couples-only, clothing-optional sexy resort experience built for travelers looking for luxury, relaxation, and intimacy.
The Desire Resort is technically outside of Cancun in Puerto Morelos, which makes it not technically a Cancun resort, but it’s still worth it.
This is an intimate village-like experience that is perfect for a romantic Spring Break vacation. Enjoy pool parties, and bar hangouts, and book a room with an extra private balcony (if you need it).
My husband and I had a great time at this resort.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ANNA, MAY 2023
6. Hard Rock Hotel Cancun

If you want to let loose and have a great time and a fantastic party scene on your Spring Break trip, look no further than the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun.
This resort has a real Vegas vibe with events and activities to keep you entertained day and night.
Between the infinity pool overlooking the ocean, the five international cuisine restaurants, and the spa — you’ll be hard-pressed to do it all while you’re there. It’s clearly one of the best spring break destinations that college kids will enjoy.
All-inclusive vacationers can find free drinks 24/7, music all day long, and swim-up bars that really pump the party scene.
But fear not if you’re looking for a few minutes to get away and relax, the property is huge so you can definitely find a quiet corner to enjoy.
Staff were extremely nice and courteous. The service was quick and always on point.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ robert, april 2023
7. Golden Parnassus Cancun Resort

If you’re looking for a smaller, budget-friendly, adults-only experience, the Golden Parnassus Cancun Resort is for you.
This all-inclusive Spring Break destination has only 214 rooms, making it a smaller choice but one that still has a lively personality. You can expect drinks all day long by the outdoor pool, gorgeous views of the Caribbean Sea, and foam poolside parties.
Most of the peak season activities at the resort happen at the beach bar or the pool, but you can also enjoy a day at the spa if that’s more your style.
This might not have the glitz and glam of the Grand Oasis Hotel, but it’s the best way to find a budget-friendly space that provides fun, great people, and a festive environment.
The staff was amazing! The food was very good.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ martha, september 2023
8. Krystal Cancun

Located in the heart of the Spring Break action, Krystal Cancun has stunning views. Everything you could possibly want access to on your vacation from nightclubs to shops is within walking distance.
But you don’t even have to leave the resort to enjoy your break. The hotel has three restaurants, three bars, a gorgeous panoramic pool, and a convenient swim-up bar.
This beach destination is beautiful, but there is some feedback that around this time of year the waves break on the shore — so it might not be the best fit for a cool, calm ocean swim, although if you just walk past it towards the left side of the bay you will still find calm waters to swim.
While all-inclusive is usually the most affordable option, especially if you’re in the party zone, you can also choose a European plan if you want to explore Cancun’s culinary world.
It was a lovely experience and child-friendly environment. We will definitely go back.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ MARISOL, SEPTEMBER 2023
9. Crown Paradise Club

For budget-minded Spring Breakers, there’s Crown Paradise Club. This party-friendly resort has 600 rooms and all-inclusive drink and food packages that are easier on the wallet.
This resort is family-friendly, so you’ll want to make sure that your Spring Break won’t be ruined with kids around.
However, there are adult-only sections, including a swim-up bar.
The best part is that while you’ll have easy access to all the nightclubs, restaurants, and shops you want, you won’t have to leave the resort to get the full experience.
There’s an on-site British-themed pub called Trafaglars that has pool tables and a nightclub attached. If you want a premium experience for a wallet-friendly price, this is for you.
Overall, we had a great time at the Crown Paradise Club!

Day Trips and Things to Do in Cancun During Spring Break

Cancun is a great place to celebrate Spring Break — it’s chalked full of fun, party, and live entertainment, all on a gorgeous backdrop of sandy white beaches and turquoise water.
But some of us want a little more than a 24/7 party when it comes to our vacation.
The good news is, that Cancun has a ton of options. Whether you want a simple afternoon or a full-on day trip experience, there’s plenty of adventure to be had. Here are a few of my favorite picks:
- Chichen Itza is for history lovers looking to walk through the Mayan times – BOOK IT HERE!
- Isla Mujeres for a day trip with great snorkeling and food (and party all day on a catamaran) – BOOK IT HERE!
- Extreme Adventure to zip line through the jungle – BOOK IT HERE!
- Mandala Club for a fun, energetic night on the town – BOOK IT HERE!
- Hip Hop Sessions Boat Party Cancun (Adults only) – BOOK IT HERE
If you’re not so keen on leaving your resort, most also allow you to participate in motorized or non-motorized water sports!
How to Get from Cancun Airport to your Hotel
With Cancun International Airport being one of the most well-trafficked airports in the country, you’ll want to make sure you book any hotel transfers in advance.
This will help ensure your vacation starts off on the right foot.
I recommend opting for a private roundtrip airport to hotel transport. Not only will this allow you to get to your resort faster (you’re the only stop!) but you’ll have more privacy and comfort.
The best part is that getting from the airport to your resort in the Hotel Zone or Downtown Cancun starts at as little as $39.
Otherwise here below you will find a quick guide to all your options!

Things You Should Know When Planning for Cancun Spring Break
Planning for the Spring Break season can be fun and frustrating at the same time. You’re itching to book a vacation, relax, and have fun, but you want a good deal.
With that in mind, there are a few things you’ll want to avoid to make sure you have a great experience while still getting a good deal:
► Don’t wait until the last minute to book — You’ll find the best Cancun Spring Break prices way before the event… don’t wait until the last second!
► Go all-inclusive — You might pay a higher price from the get-go, but you’ll thank yourself when you don’t have to shell out money for food and drinks throughout your trip.
► Have a plan for what you want to do — you don’t have to pre-plan everything you’re going to do on vacation, but having an idea of what you want to do can help ensure you actually get to do it.

Is Cancun a Safe Destination to Travel to?
Yes, Cancun is a relatively safe destination, despite the few unfortunate accidents that occurred in the past year which didn’t stop tourists from flocking every week to its beautiful beaches and gorgeous all-inclusive hotels.
Cancun is one of the most important vacation destinations in Mexico and the government is doing all in its power to protect tourists from negative experiences and guarantee a safe and joyful experience in this paradise on earth.
However, you are also responsible for your safety by using common sense and avoiding behavior that would put you in danger, as I mentioned in my above-linked post.
📌 Quick Safety Tips

Cancun or Punta Cana for Spring Break?
Both Cancun and Punta Cana offer beautiful beaches, lively resorts, and plenty of activities to keep you entertained while you’re on vacation. But what is the right destination for you this Spring Break?
There are two big differences between the two that you’ll want to factor into your decision-making. The first is location. Cancun is located on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, while Punta Cana is situated on the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic.
The second, and arguably more important of the two, is the vibe. Both places are beautiful, and perfect for letting loose on vacation. But Cancun has a more lively atmosphere with plenty of nightlife options, while Punta Cana is known for its laid-back vibe.
Which you choose depends on what kind of vacation you’re looking for!
Cancun or Cabo for Spring Break?

Heading to Mexico for Spring Break but can’t decide where to go? If you’re deciding between Cabo and Cancun — both great choices — there are a few things you’ll want to consider.
Cancun’s Spring Break is known for its party focus. While you can find more than alcohol and DJs there, during this particular season it can really take over. It also tends to be considered a more budget-friendly destination — though you can find some luxury options as well.
Cabo, situated on the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula has a bit more of a luxury vibe. While you can certainly find affordable places to relax and party — if you’re looking for nightlife, Cancun is your destination.
Finally, if swimming in the ocean is on the agenda, Cancun is known for its warm crystal clear water. While Cabo’s beaches are gorgeous they simply don’t measure up.
If you want to read a full comparison between Cabo and Cancun you can check out my detailed post.
Cancun or The Bahamas for Spring Break?

If you are debating between Cancun and The Bahamas as Spring break destinations, I can tell you that both are spectacular places with gorgeous beaches many water-related activities to enjoy, a delicious culinary scene, and beautiful all-inclusive resorts where to party all night long, and relax and get pampered during the day.
However, there are two main differences that favor Cancun as a better spring break destination, the first being the pricepoint, as Cancun is definitely more budget-friendly than the exclusive Bahamas and secondly, if you want to venture out of the resort you will find more party venues in Cancun than in Nassau.
